Classic Movies in the Science Fiction Genre
This category is devoted to movies regarded as classics in science
fiction. Admittedly some films are difficult to categorize.
They are a little too recent to be fit the normal category of classic,
but they are so destined to be considered classics that it seems silly to
not list them as such now.
Well, if you have a film which you
can't decide which category to post it in, post in both the general list
and the classics list. It doesn't hurt to give the extra exposure.

We have separated classic and
indie films into
separate lists in order to distinguish their contribution to the science fiction genre.
While some folks believe that remakes may approach or even surpass
the original films, we
believe the classics deserve a separate listing lest they be lost in the
overburden of new films.
If you know of movie that should be added to the classic movie list
use our classic movie submission form to
let us know. This will give the movie a bit of exposure and give
the science fiction community a broader spectrum of available
resources.

| Savages | | | Fantasy | A tribe of primitive "mudpeople" encounter a croquet ball, rolling through their forest. Following it, they find themselves on a vast, deserted Long Island estate. Entering, they begin to become civilized and assume the stereotypical roles and dress of people at a weekend party. There follows an allegory of upper-class behavior. At last, they begin to devolve toward their original status, and after a battle at croquet, they disappear into the woods. |
